Homemade Meals

About ten years ago, Mama Robin spiced up an otherwise slow winter afternoon by experimenting with her chicken noodle soup recipe. The results were scrumptious! So we began selling this hearty chicken noodle soup to our customers made with our pasture grazed chicken, bone broth, and homemade egg noodles. Since then we have expanded to offer several handcrafted varieties of soup. Some of our other tasty offerings include ready-to-bake creamy macaroni and cheese and chicken pot pies. We also offer pre-baked quiches and handmade pierogies! Stop by our farm store today to pick-up a convenient, yet nutritious and delicious, homemade meal to satisfy your whole family.

Baked Goods

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

There's always something good in the oven in the Miller's bakery. Over the years we've gained a reputation as the source of some of the tastiest homemade baked goods in Northeast PA. We like to think they're so yummy because we only use the freshest ingredients (either from our farm or locally-procured wherever possible) and the most "Grandma-like" preparation methods. Throughout the year the Bakery turns out all sorts of fresh pies, cookies of several varieties, dessert breads, doughnuts and more!

Of course, this means that we may not have your favorite pie in stock when you stop by. We encourage our customers to call ahead and advance order their pies.

Do you love the smell of our pies when you walk through the Farm Market door? Why not bring the smell home with you? You can purchase some of our pie varieties Frozen and Unbaked (baking instructions included). Pop one of these in your oven and have a piping hot dessert ready for your next dinner party! Many of our pies can be purchased from the freezer year-round.

Canned Goods

We love canning our amazing fruits and vegetables so we can share them with you throughout the year. There is nothing like homemade strawberry jam on your breakfast toast or applesauce sweetened with honey for a satisfying snack. From spicy salsa to crunchy pickles we have a wonderful variety of canned items to stock your shelves year round.

Apple Cider

At Miller's we take the cider-making craft seriously, a legacy that began generations ago on our farm. We carefully select a variety of apples for each small batch, expertly blending, tasting and adjusting along the way. Just like any other artisanal drink, no two batches of Sweet Apple Cider are the same-and that's the way we like it! It takes approximately one bushel of apples to make 3 gallons of cider. It depends largely on the juiciness of the apple varieties. Miller's Orchards makes only unpasteurized Sweet Apple Cider, which ensures that our customers get only the freshest, raw, full apple flavor. And there are no preservatives in Miller's Orchards cider.

In general, early Fall cider is tart, reflecting the tartness of the Early Mac's, Transparents and Paula Red's that dominate the early Apple harvest. As the Fall progresses, the cider's depth increases as we introduce fuller-flavored Apple varieties to the batches. Usually, the late October, early November cider is Lew's favorite! But we have found that most customers simply love to enjoy the evolution of the cider's taste throughout the Fall.

Our customers often ask us about the difference between Apple CIDER and Apple JUICE. Apple JUICE has been heated and filtered and generally mixed with sugar and preservatives. Apple CIDER contains apple solids suspended in the drink. These solids will settle as "sediment" over time.

(Tip: Don't shake your cider to reintroduce the sediment to the drink--it won't be reabsorbed. Just leave the sediment on the bottom and drink the liquid off the top.)
